Professor Dragan Savic

Engineering expert to take part in online national discussion

One of the University of Exeter’s foremost Engineering experts will be participating in a national online discussion about the crucial interdependence of water, energy and food and the role they play in meeting the future needs of the global population.

Professor Dragan Savic will participate in the online question and answer session, run by the Guardian’s Sustainable Business section, on Tuesday, 11 March from 1-2.30pm.

The debate, which features a panel of key experts, will explore the subject of ‘Where we are with nexus thinking’  - by examining  the interconnections between water, energy and food and the role these essential resources will play as the world’s population heads towards nine billion by 2050.

Professor Savic, from the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, spoke of his “delight” in taking part in the event. He said: “It is vital that we all start to think about the interconnectivity of these resources, and how they interact.

“Discussions such as this give the ideal platform to involve a wide range of views, and help extend the debate beyond the research community.”

Anyone wishing to take part in the discussion can find more information by visiting the Guardian Water Hub online section.
