International summer school 2011

As part of the University’s 2011 International Summer School the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences will be offering a pathway on Climate Change; Technology and Society.

The three week Summer Schools will bring together students from across the globe to study one of 5 credit-weighted pathways, giving students the opportunity to learn about global challenges in such diverse areas as Science, Law and Business.   The 'Climate Change: Technology and Society' pathway will provide an overview of the latest climate change science, impacts and technology for mitigation and adaptation.  It will involve lectures and practical exercises designed by world-class researchers in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, including:

  • Climate change: cause and effect;
  • Climate change: societal impacts and risk;
  • Water management technology for a changing climate;
  • Renewable energy for a low carbon future.

Teaching will take place across the University’s campuses in Exeter and Cornwall, offering students an exciting, challenging and truly international experience.
