CEMPS success in 2015 Guardian subject league table

The College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences has enjoyed considerable success in the latest university league table, published by the Guardian.

Every one of the College’s subjects listed within the distinguished league table has either maintained its position or risen, in the latest rankings for 2015.

Of the five subjects listed, four have secured a top-10 ranking, two have improved their position, and two others have maintained their status.

Medical Imaging has been ranked as the best of its kind in the country. Although positioned 2nd in the ‘Health Professions’ category overall, it takes top-spot in its field as Aston University does not offer radiography.

Mathematics saw the biggest climb, moving from 15th to a solid top-10 ranking of 8th, while Engineering: material and minerals rose to 2nd, from 4th last year.

Both Engineering: general (2nd) and Physics (15th) consolidated their status by maintaining the previous ranking positions.

Professor Ken Evans, Dean of the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences said: “These are superb results for the College, and are testament to the dedication, commitment and passion for their subjects displayed by both out students and our world-class academic staff that has created a truly outstanding educational experience.

“As a College we are consistently striving, together, to create the very best environment in which to flourish, and these excellent results reflect that desire. This is another significant step towards strengthening our subjects’ position as being amongst the very best, and I would like to congratulate everyone involved in making this another outstanding year.”
