DSTL and TSB judge the annual Engineering project poster event

On 28 May Martin Keys of Defence Science Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and Andy Treen, the South West Regional Adviser for the Technology Strategy Board's (TSB) Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme, joined members of the academic staff to judge the annual project poster event in the Harrison Building. This is an important opportunity for the third year students to present information on the project work they have completed and to talk in detail to the judges and academic staff on chosen topics.

The event culminated in the award of prizes:

  • 3rd Year MEng Mechanical Engineering student, Heather Bolt was awarded first prize of £100 for her project 'CFD Analysis of CX501 Generator Set package ventilation';
  • and 3rd Year MEng Civil Engineering student, Ross Browne gained second prize £25 for his project 'Investigation into the Dynamic response of slender structures under Wind loading'.

Many congratulations to them both.

We are very grateful to Martin Keys and Dstl for providing continued support for this event and for helping to make it such a success.
