Thursday 13 Feb 2020: Predicting patient engagement in IAPT services: A statistical analysis of Electronic Health Records
Dr Alice Davis -
Harrison 101 14:30-16:00
The Mental Health Foundation found that two-thirds of people say they have experienced a mental health problem and that collective mental health is deteriorating. Across England, 12% of Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) appointments are missed. In order to intervene effectively so that more patients receive the care they need, it is important to encourage the patients who are most likely to miss their appointments.
The University of Bath and Mayden, who provide cloud based technologies to support patient care, are embarking on a joint research project, a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, which aims to develop and test models to predict whether a patient will attend their therapy appointments, allowing for targeted intervention to be provided.
During this talk I will discuss the use of Generalised linear mixed modelling for attendance prediction, our future plans on the use joint modelling of longitudinal and time-to-event data and share my experiences of being involved in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership.
