Thursday 25 Jan 2018NT Seminar: Rational points in families of varieties

Daniel Loughran - University of Manchester

H103 14:30-16:30

A theorem of Serre states that "most" plane conics over the field of rational numbers have no rational point. (By "most" we mean considering plane conics ordered by the size of their coefficients.) In this talk we consider generalisations of Serre result to other families of varieties.
