Research expertise: Resource estimation and geostatistics.
Project involved with: Sustainable Technologies for Calcined Industrial Minerals in Europe (STOICISM), a European Union research and innovation project. In partnership with Imerys Minerals Ltd and other European partners including Technische Universiteit Delft, the Netherlands, Aalto University, Finland and Université de Lorraine, France.
Research summary: My research focuses on using statistical and geostatistical methods to produce estimates of ore body resources and reserves to help inform future mine planning and processing of ore. My particular interest is in the use of geostatistical simulation to help understand the risk associated with resource estimation and rock type prediction within a mine planning context.
