I completed a Masters Degree in Queen's University Belfast in 2014, where my main area of interest was in alternative plasmonic materials, and the application of plasmonic devices in Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording. This is when I first became interested in the interplay between the geometry of a structure and the resonances, and subsequent effects, which are displayed.

Following this, I moved to Exeter University to work with Prof. Euan Hendry and Prof. Alastair Hibbins, where we are studying the nature of chiral electromagnetic fields - those associated with some twist in polarisation. Through a series of investigations, I hope to gain an understanding of how chiral near-fields can be manipulated to enhance chiroptical interactions in microwave metamaterials.
