I completed a Masters Degree in Queen's University Belfast in 2014, where my main area of interest was in alternative plasmonic materials, and the application of plasmonic devices in Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording. This is when I first became interested in the interplay between the geometry of a structure and the resonances, and subsequent effects, which are displayed.

After starting my PhD at the University of Exeter, I have been studying chiral metamaterials under the supervision of Euan Hendry and Alastair Hibbins. I am particalurly interested in chiral electromagnetic near-fields and their interactions. This becomes even more interestring when we push the bounadaries of the classical metamaterial models.

I'm also interested in new approaches to homogenisation of complex metamaterials, metamaterials that support topologically protected states, chirality in near-zero index materials and new methods for detecting chirality.
