I studied at the University of Exeter from 2005-2009 for my undergraduate MPhys course; this also included a year's study and the University of Wollongong in Australia. After graduating I took some time out to travel and continue some other passions such as scuba diving. After working as a diving instructor for a few years I made a decision to return to the intellectual challenge presented by physics research and came back to Exeter because of the world class research conducted.

The main focus of my project is surface plasmon polaritons. Using non-linear techniques to couple to these waves with optical frequency light which will then move on towards characterising novel materials as well as detection and waveguiding of the coupled plasmons.
