I carried out my undergraduate degree here at Exeter in Civil Engineering (MEng) and have since made a sparkling transition to Mechanical Engineering and in particular - Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
My major interest is in CFD and the prediction of turbulent fluid-particle flow. The interaction between the fluid and particle phases lead to a complex mix of phenomena broadly characterised as turbulence modulation. This can lead to very interesting behaviour especially in the near-wall region of a wall bounded flow. It is this behaviour that I am particularly interested in.
I am also apart of a research group investigating scour mechanics at bridge piers.
