Computer Science research specialises within areas of machine learning, knowledge representation, natural computing, optimisation and shape recognition. We bring together Computer Scientists and Mathematicians working on a variety of modern-day, interdisciplinary topics. We have our own Beowulf parallel machine and access to the University's EPSRC-funded IBM supercomputer SP3 system
Loebner Prize
The 2011 Loebner Prize took place for the first time in the South-West of England at the University of Exeter. The Loebner Prize, named after its founder and philanthropist Hugh Loebner, is an annual world-wide contest to test the state-of-the-art in artificial intelligence (AI). See the results
