Temporary Works accounts for a significant proportion of the cost of the permanent works.  The safety of operatives and the statutory requirement to provide adequate work places imposes great responsibility on all members of the construction team.  It is recognised that the ability of site based engineers to competently undertake the design of some common temporary works schemes utilised on our projects will be beneficial to their projects, their employer and their own continued development as professional civil engineers. It will allow them to deliver efficient and safe temporary works schemes in the live project environment to the benefit of all. These design modules aim to provide delegates with the tools and understanding to do so. Delivered by an experienced design engineer, delegates will be given step by step direction in designing common elements of temporary works.
