Module title:Computational Modelling
Module codeMTHM008
Module lecturers:Dr Jemma Shipton
Module credits:15

Modern applications of mathematics often require the development and analysis of computer simulations. This module is an introduction to relevant programming principles and computational techniques essential to the skillset of an applied mathematician. Theory will be complemented by practical programming labs and case studies in topics related to our research expertise, such as Climate Science, Geophysical and Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics, and Mathematical Biology. A key outcome from this module is to give you the skills to design and analyse your own computational models, and the flexibility to be comfortable working in different programming environments.

Please note that all modules are subject to change, please get in touch if you have any questions about this module.
