  • Staff committed to helping you make the best mathematics career choices - you'll be guided at every step to help you choose the best mathematics option for you.

Exeter gave me the option to study Mathematics combined with Management from the Business School, giving me the opportunity to cover disciplines in different specialised area. There are many facilities available to help me throughout my course, such as the lecture theatres and computer suites, and I have also found the Harrison Learning Centre to be very useful for private study. Lecturers often give extra examples to help with the course content, and during tutorials and seminars there is also the freedom to ask specific questions and gain further understanding of the topics. In particular, some of the tutorials are led by fourth year students, which has proven very useful. I believe my course will enable me to find the best Mathematics career choice for me.

By taking the combined degree with Management will hopefully widen my career options to find an appropriate career. I was impressed with the Mathematics Department from day one; I like the way everything is centralised and in one place. The Campus is comfortable and very user-friendly and I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent in Exeter so far.

Apart from the course, another main aspect of my time here has been playing for the University Badminton 1st Team. I am very grateful to have been chosen to play, especially competing against other Universities (successfully beating Cambridge recently!). Training has also been great and of a very high quality due to the fantastic coaching, which has been very encouraging for my own personal performance. The enthusiasm and support of the whole badminton team during matches and training has also made the whole experience very enjoyable and I would recommend everyone to get involved in whatever they can.

BSc Mathematics with Management (1st Year)

Exeter is a brilliant place to study. It is a small enough city to be relaxing, avoiding the rush of a large city, but large enough to have a great time socialising and shopping with friends. It has also given me the opportunity to try new sports and meet different people. Academically, the new approach to work has been fantastic; lecturers have been friendly and easy to contact throughout my degree. Exeter is a great and relaxing place to study with fantastic research qualities and an excellent reputation. I've joined Exeter University fencing club and have been a member since my first year. I have learnt numerous skills and have had a great time at a wide range of social events. Exeter's sports societies and university events are particularly good.
