An EPSRC, University and Industry based Prosperity Partnership Programme

Building upon the successful relationship that exists between the University of Exeter and QinetiQ, to develop advanced metamaterials that can be used to control and manipulate the propagation of electromagnetic and acoustic energy. Our researchers, industry scientists, students and managers, across 3 academic disciplines, are working to produce cutting-edge science and cost-effective routes to manufacturing.

What are metamaterials?

Fabricated microstructures that are emerging as an important new class of electromagnetic and acoustic materials. They have a wide range of applications across industries such as communication, medical diagnosis, defence, manufacturing and ‘cloaking’.
