Debbie supports college academics and researchers with the development of research grant proposals. This largely involves supporting academics with bringing together consortium for large, complex cross-college, inter-disciplinary bids, grant-writing support, financial analysis of project resources and management of College Peer Review. While working closely with the Physics discipline in particular, Debbie is also involved with the development and implementation of research strategies and policies within the college.
Debbie was awarded her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2003, which investigated pharmacokinetics, toxicology and pharmacodynamics of novel agents (GlaxoSmithKline). She then held postdoctoral positions at the University of Leicester in Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine. Subsequent positions included working at University Hospitals Bristol in the Clinical Trials Unit (Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery) and the University of Exeter Medical School.
She moved into her current role in October 2015.
