I am currently a PhD student within the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Metamaterials.
In 2019 I graduated from the Open University with a degree in Physics. My dissertation focused on the magnetic interactions between M-dwarf stars and their exoplanets and the implications for habitability potential.
During my undergraduate studies I became particulary interested in the effects of electromagnetic radiation upon matter which drove me to apply for the PhD I am currently studying.
The title of my PhD project is "RF and mm-wave imaging using optical modulation" which is supervised by Professor Euan Hendry and Profesor Nick Stone, in collaboration with QintetiQ. The PhD project aims to determine the depth of healthy tissue across the entire surface of a tumour using RF and mm-wave imaging processes. This research has the potential to reduce the occurence of second surgeries, cancer reoccurence and metastasis.
