Overview
I am a first year PhD student working with Dr. Sebastiaan Krijt and Prof. Matthew Bate.
My PhD project concerns the early stages of planet formation in the protoplanetary discs, during which micrometer-sized dust grains inherited from the molecular cloud grow to km-sized planetesimals. I am currently focusing on the process of dust coagulation, by numerically simulating a colliding population of solids with the Monte Carlo approach.
Apart from that, I have several other interests in astrophysics, notably in astrochemistry and astrobiology.
Education
I finished my BSc in Physics in 2018 at the University of Liege, in Belgium, followed by a MSc in Space Sciences, which I completed in 2020 with a summa cum laude. My Master Thesis, titled 'Constraining the dynamics and masses of the TRAPPIST-1 planets with the transit timing variations method', was supervised by Dr. Michael Gillon.
My previous international experiences, in the North of Finland, and in Morocco, convinced me that the merging of people from different cultures and backgrounds can be very complementary, which is why I decided to come in Exeter for my PhD project.
