Exeter engineering student secures award
An Exeter engineering undergraduate has been named as a regional winner at a recent awards ceremony.
Emily Hacking was one of two winners at the annual South West Women in Property Student Awards, held in Bristol.
The awards are designed to recognise the talent, skills and ambition of the region’s female undergraduates studying courses linked to either property or construction.
Emily who is in her second year studying BEng Civil Engineering, was praised by judges as being “very personable, confident and passionate - she is driven, engaging, enthusiastic, bright and savvy.”
Emily said, “The finals were a night to remember. With not only the invaluable opportunity to get one on one feedback on my CV but also to be able to network with those from industry, the event was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and am very honoured to be a winner of such a prestigious prize.”
As well as receiving a trophy and cash prize, Emily will now also have the opportunity to take part in Women in Property’s mentoring programme. She will also represent the South West on 18th September, when she joins 14 other regional finalists competing for the National Student Awards.
