Thursday 27 Aug 2020: [Journal Club] Title: Investigating the Effect of Massive Stars in the Rotational Scenario of Pre-Main Sequence Clusters

The influence of massive stars in the rotational evolution of low mass stars was investigated using observations of massive stars and rotation rates of low mass stars in clusters of various ages smaller than 13 Myr. This was carried out by modelling the far-UV flux of massive stars in order to calculate the incident FUV flux at the position of the low mass stars. Period and disk distributions of these stars were then evaluated in the context of the incident FUV flux they experience, using FUV thresholds expected to have effects on disks at the age of the cluster.
