Tuesday 07 Jan 2020[Journal Club] Title: Selecting Candidate YSOs for WEAVE

Andy Wilson - University of Exeter

4th Floor Interaction Area, Physics building 11:15-11:40

YSOs can be identified from field stars using a number of observational properties. Combining these properties into a single probability gives a more accurate and powerful way to identify potential YSOs. This approach is being used to select candidate YSOs across a 1600 square degree area of the Northern Galactic Plane for WEAVE, a new multi-object spectrograph being installed on the William Herschel Telescope.
