In the first part of my talk, I will present Euler-Poincare variational principles for interactions between water waves and a floating rigid-body dynamically coupled to its interior fluid sloshing in three dimensions. In the second half of the talk, I will discuss a new derivation of the Bateman-Luke variational principle for the same problem but using the velocity potential theory in rotating coordinates.
