Light echoes could be observed whenever there is a change in luminosity of a certain region, reflected by the surrounding material. They could tell us not only about the event, but also about the surrounding structures and compositions. With a new extension for mol3D it is now possible to model scattered light echoes using a Monte Carlo radiative transfer Code. In the talk I will introduce the program, showing proto-stellar objects as examples. I will show how the light echo of a simple rectangle burst occurring in a typical class I system will look like at different times after the event.

In the second part of the talk I will give a brief summary about S255 NIRS3, an high mass young stellar object, that discovered an outburst due to an accretion event.
