Short Biography
Graduated in Applied Physics by the University of Porto, followed by PhD in Physics from the same institution. Her thesis entitled "Micro and Nano Patterned Magnetic Structures" was developed at IFIMUP (Porto, Portugal), in collaboration with ICMM (Madrid, Spain). In addition to FCT (Science and Technology Foundation Portugal) PhD scholarship, she was also awarded funding to study abroad and present her work by Fundacao Calouste Gulbenkian and The IEEE Magnetics Society. At INESC-MN, her work focus on the nanofabrication of magnetoresistive devices. This work was awarded First Prize at Sensors Expo 2016. Diana is an Invited Assistant Professor at the Physics Department at Instituto Superior Tecnico, a member of The IEEE Magnetics Society and currently an advisory panel for IOP - Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics. In 2006, she was awarded a FCT Investigator Starting Grant.
