Thursday 02 Nov 2017Open Access and Research Data Management

Imogen Ward-Smith - University of Exeter

Harrison 170 14:30-15:30

You are invited to attend short talks on Open Access and Research Data Management.

Open access publishing enables your research to be made freely available online, increasing its visibility, potential impact and citations. It is also required by REF and many research funders. This talk will cover both the self-archiving route to open access via ORE, our institutional repository, and the paid-for route via payment of publishers’ Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Good research data management throughout the life of your project is now required by funders. This talk will enable you to understand aspects of research data management including open data and shared data, funder and UoE expectations, data management plans (DMP), and data access statements.

For both talks there will be the opportunity to ask questions.
