On 3 February David Fortune will present a talk on Informatics in the Water Industry. He will look at the scope of the water industry and consider some of the key problems that the industry needs to solve. David will also consider where IT is used for engineering in the industry and, in particular, the role of mathematical modelling software. David asks where career paths are available in Water Informatics.
David is Director of Innovation at XP Solutions and a member of the Executive Management Team. He was formerly Director of Product Management at Wallingford Software.
He manages the teams that design, develop and deliver engineering software systems and products. He specializes in water management, including stormwater system design and modelling, wastewater modelling, water supply modelling, river modelling, flood forecasting, asset management and telemetry.
