Bio:
Julian Jones is a Distinguished Fellow at Schumacher Institute, Julian volunteers for Water21, a non profit Agenda 21 organisation. In 1984 he resigned as UK sales director for Bauer (water & waste engineering) to address public health issues linked with sewage contaminated aerosols spraying from weirs during spates. He developed sustainable drainage, or ‘SUDS’, (sewage & rainwater soft engineering) to resolve this, demonstrating this on BBCTV in 1991; first UK Catchment Based Approach (CaBA) in 1993 for Stroud District Council and the first UK Defra Pilot proposal for Severn Trent Water in 2004. He is the Hon Water Scientist for Gloucestershire NHS, funding and mentoring postgraduate studies into river catchment management.
