ACID-PRUF

Is a three year NERC directed programme that will investigate the complex interaction of aerosols and clouds. The overall aims of ACID-PRUF are to reduce the uncertainty in the radiative forcing associated with the aerosol indirect effects though a targetted laboratory and modelling programme.

The Exeter programme is strongly coupled to Met Office strategic research and will use the Met Office large eddy simulation model to develop a range of parameterisations of aerosol-cloud interaction suitable for up-scaling to global numerical weather prediction and climate models.
