Prof Stana Zivanovic
Ms Nimmy Abraham, PhD student
Nimmy Mariam Abraham graduated with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, subsequent to gaining a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, India. She has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, India, before joining the Vibration Engineering Section at Exeter in September 2019 to pursue her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Stana Zivanovic and Dr Genevieve Williams. Her studies focus on understanding how active humans perceive and interact with vibrating structures.
Mr Bintian Lin, PhD student
Bintian Lin is a visiting PhD student from Harbin Institute of Technology, who joined the University of Exeter in May 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Stana Zivanovic. His research focuses on modelling the pedestrian-structure interaction by developing a damped bipedal inverted pendulum to represent the pedestrian walking on the structure. During his stay in Exeter, he is working on expreimental verification of his conceptual walking model using data collected in VSimulators and Exeter Bridge facilities.
Dr Sigong Zhang, MSCA Fellow
Before jining Exeter in October 2020, Sigong has studied and worked on human-induced vibration in China and Canada for more than ten years, mainly focusing on lightweight steel and wood floor systems. During his MSCA Fellowship, he will examine the influence of vibration and visual stimuli on pedestrians walking in both virtual and real environments using brand new VSimulators and Exeter Bridge facilities.
