Dr Senthil Gurusamy
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Having over 14 years of research experience in the field of Applied Mathematical Modelling, Computing, Water resources and managing multiple interdisciplinary research projects.
Currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Centre for Water Systems, University of Exeter, UK. Earlier worked as a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher for the Cooler Calmer Singapore project of Future Cities Laboratory, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich/ SEC, Singapore. Prior I was a Senior Researcher, Postdoctoral Fellow and Coordinator of the Landscape Ecology Module at the same laboratory. My research has focused on developing models/tools for flood inundation, contaminant and sediment transport, marine ecosystem and urban heat island.
Did my PhD in Applied Mathematics, Environmental Fluid Dynamics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
My specialties include Mathematical and Numerical modelling, Environmental & Computational Fluid Dynamics, Flood inundation modelling, Predictive modelling, Modelling of pollutant/sediment transport and mixing, Surface-subsurface interactions, Water Resource Management, Flood and Disaster Risk Management, Big Data, Data Analysis, Catastrophe Modelling, High Performance Computing,Urban Heat Island, Plankton dynamics.
