Overview
I am currently undertaking a four-year EngD programme focusing on lithium extraction from UK-sourced granitic materials and geothermal waters, including mineral processing, thermal and chemical conversion techniques and final product purification. The intention for the final product is to supply the world's rapidly-growing battery market. Processing methods, sustainability, flowsheets and the financial viability of such production are key themes.
I am generously sponsored by Cornish Lithium Ltd and the EPSRC in these studies, and am a student in the EPSRC's Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing, hosted by the Universities of Exeter, Warwick and Cranfield.
