Mrs Priscila Barros Ramalho Alves
Priscila is a Civil Engineer with specialisation in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. Her professional experience combine the elaboration of city sanitation plans, proposal of drainage solutions, engineering designs, water resources and GIS modelling, and collaboration with stakeholders. She also has experience teaching undergraduate, technical and postgraduate modules (in Brazil and UK).
She holds a position of PhD Candidate on Centre of Water Systems (CWS) at University of Exeter (United Kingdom). The thesis is developing a risk-based spatial-participatory framework to the management of extreme events in semiarid regions. The thesis aims to select, locate and propose mitigation strategies for flooding with the development of a socio-environmental approach, focusing in the combination of vulnerability, hazard and exposure.
