Overview

Profile:

Over 18 years of research experience in Control Systems Engineering, specialising in the aerospace sector, within a renowned research group in the UK; and 4 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering with a renowned company in Malaysia. Co-author of two books ‘Fault Detection and Fault Tolerant Control Using Sliding Modes’ and 'Fault Tolerant Control Scheme Using Integral Sliding Mode'; co-author of over 6 contributed book chapters; co-author of over 35 high profile journal papers and over 80 high profile conference publications, with more than 3770 citations and h-index of 31 (google scholar) and 24 (Scopus) to date. Actively involved and working collaboratively with experts from industry and academia in international level cutting-edge research projects in the UK and Europe since 2004. Recently, Dr Alwi has been awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Industrial Fellowship and a KTP project which is hosted by Prismatic ltd, working on the Flight Control for High Altitude Long Endurance pseudo-satellite UAV.
