Research Interest Profile - STEMM Lab (Baldycheva Lab):

Highly interdisciplinary academic research lab working on applied R&D of smart materials, devices, and systems for real world applications. STEMM Lab actively cooperates with the representatives of the industry. We specifically conduct applied research that can be expeditiously commercialized and introduced to the market in short-terms.

STEMM Lab Divisions:

●     Opto-Electronic Systems Laboratory 

System level integration of novel nano-materials into CMOS photonics devices, and the engineering of the thin film flexible (opto-)electronic devices for applications in communications, computations, energy harvesting, bio-chemical sensing and artificial intelligence.

●      Smart Composite Materials Laboratory

Development of new multi-functional materials for applications in flexible and liquid electronics, smart coatings, E-textiles, and building and structural materials.

●      Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (STEMM AI Lab)

STEMM AI Lab research interests span from development of high accuracy computational calculations to integration of machine learning and AI into the real-world ecosystems of fintech, healthcare and communications.
