Senior Research Fellow
My original expertise in the areas of computer science and electronics, led to positions in software engineering, support, technical management and product marketing within several electronics and software companies. More recently, I have applied this experience to mining research, with a research role within the UK's Mines Rescue Service, before taking up my position at the University of Exeter.
My main research interests are sub-surface communication and the use of instrumentation for improving productivity and safety in mining, and for managing the impact of former mining operations. I have been involved in serveral such projects which have been funded under the European RFCS (Research Fund for Coal and Steel) initiative.
