Recruit our students

If you are interested in hosting a visit for our students or you would like us to advertise your company’s open day, please contact

Guest lecture

If you or your company has specific expertise, you may be able to help us to deliver a lecture to the students for a particular module.

Company presentations

A dedicated presentation can advertise graduate roles within your organisation, or simply raise your business’ profile amongst our students. You can present to students from specific disciplines, or open up the opportunity to all students across the university.

Skills sessions

Our students love hearing the latest advice direct from industry so if you have special knowledge of skills such as CV writing, interview skills, networking or anything else you think could be useful, please do get in touch.

Many of our students undertake a work placement as part of their course. Placements can involve working on short projects for 6-10 weeks or 3-4 months, or a full year in industry.

Our bright, enthusiastic students are keen to demonstrate and develop their skills and bring a fresh perspective to the workplace. Feedback from employers has been consistently positive and many students are invited back to take up a graduate position with their placement host.

If you are interested in setting up a work placement and want to find out more, please contact our employability team.

Our themed Employers in the Foyer afternoons give employers from a similar industry or profession the opportunity to set up a stand in a busy area of one of our buildings so that students can drop by between their lectures.

What you need to know:

  • You should be from an organisation with a clear relationship to Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
  • Representatives from your organisation (preferably engineers, scientists, researchers, etc) should be willing to spend an afternoon talking with students in our foyer about their role and experiences.
  • Please contact us with at least one month's notice to arrange a suitable date.

You can also be a part of the university’s STEM Careers Fair. This is a careers and placement fair specifically for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics students based on the Exeter campus. It is a great opportunity for you to raise your profile amongst our students and to promote any placement or graduate opportunities you may have.
