Hong completed her PhD on Co-continuous Metal – Ceramic Composites from Department of Materials, Loughborough University (2005 - 2008). She then worked in Loughborough University, The University of Nottingham and University of Exeter as a Research Associate/Research Fellow between 2008-2012. Hong is an Experimental Officer in the Imaging Suite since May 2012 and Imaging Suite Team Leader since July 2015. Hong is also a radiation protection supervisor (RPS).
