Dr David Raymond
Marine Operations Technician
I am based at Tremough Campus in the Renewable Lab. I mainly work on the sea going side of Wave Energy. I run the University’s survey boat the Devocean, taking biologists out to do bird, seal and plankton surveys around the wave hub site. We also deploy c-pods and retrieve the information. We use the boat in Falmouth to do work on the Swmtbf and our wave rider buoys at the wave hub site. I’m also involved with the building and deployment of our ADCP and DWADCP frames. In my spare time I’m a crew member for the RNLI on the Penlee Lifeboat based in Newlyn on their all-weather and inshore lifeboats, and I am currently starting my training to be a Relief Coxswain.
