Alfonso P. Ramallo-González



Alfonso graduated with a BEng and a MEng at the University of Cartagena (Spain). He did his Master thesis at the University College of Copenhagen where he graduated with distinction in product design.
After working for the Regional Energy Agency of Murcia (ARGEM), he worked in the solar sector as product designer of Photo-Voltaic Concentrators for two years. In this time he participated in the development of two patents and supervised the prototyping and testing of the product.

He returned to academia with a PhD Scholarship of the Wates Foundation at the University of Exeter, and he is now at the University of Bath under the supervision of Prof. David Coley investigating optimisation methods for low-energy building design considering uncertainties.

His interests are: simple building models, renewable energy and evolutionary computation.
