Tom Blight is a Ph.D. research student at the Centre for Energy and the Environment, studying routes to zero-carbon residential design. Tom is involved in partnerships with local and national housing developers where he is monitoring occupant behaviour and energy use in both new-build and retrofitted properties.
Previous to the Ph.D. position Tom was studying Physics at Exeter University. He was involved in a biomass boiler feasibility study for the University. Work in other fields includes a two-year project on second-harmonic generation by buried magnetic interfaces, and two months’ experience of nanomagnetic-switching data analysis using Origin and OOMMF software.
