Stephen Simm is a PhD student working at the Centre on a research project funded by Devon County Council. His work is focussed on the question of how to achieve school buildings which are zero carbon in-use, and is associated with the zero carbon school project Montgomery Primary School, to be built in Exeter over the 2010-2011 school year.
His work has included modelling of the building to investigate thermal and lighting performance. Prior to joining the Centre in 2009, he was employed as a primary school teacher and thus brings knowledge of both education and physics to his current research.
