Overview

I graduated from the University of Exeter in 2018 with a first class MPhys, receiving the Bertie Black award for outstanding academic achievement. My masters project concerned the confinement of spin waves in nano-elements, investigating graded index magnonic metamaterials.

Since September 2018 I have been working as a postgraduate researcher in the XM2 CDT. My current research is a theoretical project supervised by Dr Eros Mariani and Prof. Saverio Russo, and focuses on superconducting nano-electromechanical devices. The small active masses and huge quality factors of suspended carbon nanotubes make them candidates for detecting masses as small as a single proton. Together with the incredible coherence of superconductors and the novel DC readout of our setup, I hope to realise and entangle mechanical quits for quantum computing.
