2nd year XM2 PhD student studying magnonics, currently; running micromagnetic simulations using mumax3 and finding laser temperature profiles using COMSOL.

  • Project title: Time resolved imaging of surface acoustic and spin waves excited in 2D metamaterials by tightly focused femtosecond optical pulses
  • Supervisors: Volodymyr Kruglyak, Andrey Shytov
  • Aim: Image, simulate and understand propagating anisotropic magnetic spin waves and develop structures to manipulate them
  • Applications: Computer processors and storage, wireless communications and sensing
