I am a postgraduate researcher studying towards a Ph.D. in Physics, under the supervision of Prof. Volodymyr Kruglyak. My research projects span experimental, numerical and analytical themes in magnonics. I primarily use time-resolved scanning Kerr microscopy (TRSKM) and micromagnetic simulations to image the excitation, propagation and confinement of spin waves across a variety of uniformly and non-uniformly magnetized systems. I also use time-resolved optically-pumped scanning optical microscopy (TROPSOM) to study the spin waves and surface-acoustic waves excited by focused laser pulses.

          I started my Ph.D. research in autumn 2013, and am scheduled to submit my doctoral thesis in autumn 2016. Prior to my starting my Ph.D. studies, I graduated from the University of Exeter in summer 2013 with a First-Class Integrated-Masters Degree in Physics. I also worked as a research intern for three months as part of Prof. van der Laan's and Prof. Hesjdal's research groups at Diamond Light Source / University of Oxford.
