I am a research fellow at the University of Exeter, where I work on understanding the chemical composition of planetary atmospheres. To date, my focus has been on the atmospheres of Jupiter-like planets outside of our own Solar system – hot Jupiters.
I am part of a team of researchers who are adapting and applying the Met Office Unified Model (the UM) to the atmospheres of exoplanets. The UM is one of the most sophisticated atmosphere models used for numerical weather prediction and long-term climate studies. Our research, in collaboration with the UK Met Office, is pushing this model into new extreme scenarios to provide insight and understanding to the ever-improving observations of extra-solar atmospheres.
