I am an experimental physicist with a keen interest in electrodynamic modelling. I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Communications Engineering) from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India with an Institute gold medal in 2013 and subsequently Integrated Ph.D. in Physics from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune with "Academic excellence award and gold medal for best Ph.D thesis" in 2019. Presently I am a post-doctoral research fellow in the PhotMat project led by Prof. Bill Barnes. Fourier plane imaging and spectroscopy, Raman imaging, Hyperspectral imaging, and electrodynamic modelling forms my key skill-set. Additionally, I am also a poet, a short-story writer, a playwright, and a theatre artist.

My Research:

My research spans across multiple topics under the broad umbrella of "light - matter interaction".  My work focuses on designing optical cavities to efficiently couple molecules by which one can drastically alter properties of molecules and atoms. Traditionally, such coupling is studied in metal based cavities like Fabry-Perot cavities, Plasmonic structures etc. I am presently probing dielectric 'soft cavities' to understand its capability to strongly couple to molecules down to the limit of a molecular monolayer.
