Artificial Intelligence games day

Students from around the UK have been competing in an event organised by computer science PhD students, based in the University's College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Kent McClymont and Maximillian Dupenois.

The competition comes to a close with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Games Day. University students and games companies from around the country will be attending. Industry experts will give short presentations on games they've worked on and experiences of the industry.

Students have the opportunity to present their AI player in a poster session as well as meeting experienced individuals from the industry.

From the 18th February 2011 to 22nd March 2011 a series of tournaments will be automatically run, one each weekday night. This should give participants the opportunity to test, adapt and train their entries before the competition on the 23rd March 2010 which will be used to determine the winning entry.

Cash awards will be presented to the overall winner and to the entry with the most style.

For further information about the day please visit the AI Games Day website or contact Kent McClymont (km314@ex.ac.uk)

Date: 22 March 2011
