Engineering students at the University of Exeter showcased a range of innovative projects including a knee bracing system, a shaking table and an indoor unmanned aerial vehicle to industry experts at a special event.

The 75 Master of Engineering (MEng) students from across a range of disciplines presented their group work as posters, displays and presentations, to representatives from Babcock, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Devon County Council, Exeter College, and others.

The day-long event, which took place at the University’s Streatham Campus, was an opportunity for students to showcase their project work and to network with industry contacts.

Professor James Brownjohn, lead academic for the project, said: “This is the culmination of months of hard work by our students on the practical group project, which has given them a taste of what it is like to work in a project teams such as they will experience in industry, enhancing their team working and project management skills.”

He added: “The poster and project presentation day is an excellent platform for them to demonstrate to industry the results of their hard work, the challenges they have overcome and the useful lessons they have learnt.”
