Thursday 28 Jun 2012Global dynamics of some epidemic models on complex networks

Xinchu Fu -

Nowadays, with the development of modern urbanism and transportation,
more and more people live in cities and they can move elsewhere quite easily and
quickly, which seemingly aggravates the transmission of epidemics on a global scale.
To understand such phenomenon, in this talk some epidemic models on complex
networks are discussed, in particular, the spatial structures of populations and individual
mobility patterns will be taken into account, as a more practical model, an coupled ODE
system is given to describe the epidemic transmission, and its global dynamics and related
problmes are investigated.
