Tuesday 02 Apr 2019[Journal Club] Radiative Transfer Simulations of T-Tauri Star-Disk Interactions

I am part of the AWSoMeStars research group, studying the evolution of young, low mass stellar objects. My work is on the evolution of T Tauri stars (TTS) and their emission signatures. By using the radiative transfer code TORUS, synthetic observations of star-disk interactions can be modelled. Analysis of these models will allow us to probe the observations of TTS to better understand the physics governing mass accretion and mass loss rates, parameters that are important for determining the evolution and spin-down mechanisms in these young stellar systems.
